I started taking the Fat Blaster last week on Wednesday, two tablets before each meal. I have had bad indigestion ever since, and was thinking that it might be due to the Fat Blaster. Has anyone else noticed a similar side-effect? Would it make a difference if I took the tablets after eating?

Hi Joan -

This is really a question for the manufacturers. While I haven't heard of it happening before, there is definitely a possibility that your body could have a reaction to it.

You might like to contact the manufacturers directly. They have a webpage at www.naturopathica.com.au.

Hi,

I have been taking the Reductal 10mg for a while and have not noticed any change, am I doing anything wrong?  A friend mentioned to me that she has been on Fat Blaster MAX for a while and it has really helped her.  Do you think that I should go off the Reductal and give the Fat Blaster a try?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Katherine -

The thing to keep in mind is that Reductil is a prescription-only drug, while Fat Blaster can be bought in supermarkets, which means the two can't really be compared.

We have had quite a few people have success with the Fat Blaster, but Fat Blaster isn't for everyone. You may wish to try it for a month or two and see how it goes.

One advantage Reductil has is that your doctor helps you manage your weight. They will monitor your weight loss, and adjust the dose accordingly.

If you do decide to try the Fat Blaster, you should speak to your doctor to check for implications of stopping the Reductil treatment, or if you decided to take both together, what the possible interactions are.

Hi Joan,

Just wondering if you have found any success with the Fat Blaster and how soon after you started taking it did you notice that you had started to loose weight?

Thanks, Katherine

Hi Pooman - All things considered, Fat Blaster is a pretty good product. Lots of people have commented as such. Maybe you could be more specific?

I tried it and didn't think it was very effective. But then again I only tried it for three months, and I didn't really do much exercise or change my diet. I think if you gave it a real go it could make a difference.

Recently  I changed my diet and started walking. I got myself a pedometer to make sure I walk 10,000 steps every day. Also I got a blood pressure monitor for Christmas, to keep an eye on my ticker.

I think diet and exercise are the best way to go. Having said that, I needed to fail with the Fat Blaster before I got my A into G. That was the lowest point in my life, I think.

Hi Jules - I use the fat blaster. Obviously it doesn't work as well as I'd like (eg size 16 to size 10 in two weeks!) but it works better than anything else I've tried. I also like it because the ingredients are "natural."

Those meal-replacement shakes like Optifast just plain scare me, but you might get some mileage out of them.

I am thinking about trying Fat Blaster but need some advice.  I eat relatively well particularly in terms of watching my fat intake, though I do have a tendency to be a bit naughty on the weekends (junk food and the like), but am willing to stop this.  My biggest down fall is exercise, I'm a student and find little time to exercise (bad excuse, I know), and mostly I am just having trouble shifting about 4 or 5 extra kilos I've put on as a result of my student lifestyle.  Can anyone tell me whether I'd find Fat Blaster a benefit and would I lose weight on it.

Hi e'one - long time lurker, first time poster!

My experience with Fat Blaster has been that was is good to help kickstart my diet but in the end unfortunately it comes down to exercise and diet. I don't think I would use it if I only needed to lose five kilos. I was "obese" when I started to use it. Now I'm probably five kilos over what a doctor would call my "ideal" weight. But that's just me.

I've been meaning to try the Fat Blaster Max, but I'm owrried about becoming dependant on diet pills and stuff.

I think the pedometer is a good idea - thanks Liz  - and they're only $30 bucks these days.

I was using Fatblaster last year for a while and found that it really did help - I was going to Weight Watchers but found it hard to stick to the eating plan, i.e. wanting to eat chips!!!  Fatblaster helped me with the junk food cravings and appetite suppression.  All up I lost 15kg over about 5 months (4 months of that on Fatblaster).   It is not a fast fix but the weight loss was consistent when it hadn't been prior to taking it, and that is what kept me motivated.

I would never have seen changes if I was only on Fatblaster and not on a healthy eating plan...however, Fatblaster made it easy to stick to.

The bad side (cos there always is) -

Over time I felt like the effects the tablets were supposed to give, were minimising and I slowly felt the cravings and my appetite return.  Almost like I was immune to it...

Actually, when I bought the blood pressure monitor I got a free pedometer. Too bad I had already bought one by that stage.

The Omron Blood Pressure Monitors used to come with a free pedometer, but we ran out of stock of those ones around Christmas. They're cheap though - I've seen them for $12 online.

We only stock the Omron Aerostride (HJ109) Pedometer which is currently $35.00.

Hi Liz -

There's no problem sending them to the UK. Postage would be AU$15.50.

Don't forget that because you are overseas we would take off the Australian GST, which saves you AU$7.81 on the triple pack of regular Fat Blaster (AU$85.95).

I just wanted to confirm, you mentioned the "Fat Busters" but the product we're selling is actually "Fat Blaster". You might like to click on this link to make sure we're talking about the same product here:

Fat Blaster

I hope this helps!

Hi... My names Grace.  I have been exercising for over a year now.  I go to the gym 4 - 5 days a week!  I run on the treadmeill for about 30 mins and use the weight for the other 30 minutes, In the last year I have lost over 50 cm.  but lately I have began to put the weght back on.  I was a size 20 down to a 16 but am slowly going back up to an 18.  I have changed my rutein at the gym, but this doesn't seem to be helping.

Would the fat blaster help someone like me who's quite fit but unable to shift the weight?  I am still classed as obese even though I have lost so much weight.

Grace - I'm a nutrition professional. If you are going to the gym 4-5 days a week then my guess is that you are eating more calories per day than you are burning off. Is your lifestyle sedentary? Also, have you seen a doctor about this, because it might be hormone-related.
My other suggestion would be to try a different cardio-vascular workout eg Step machine.

Nathan - welcome to the forum! We are keen to have health professionals providing thier input on these pages. If you send me details of your qualifications I can set up a special account for you. This will let people see at a glance what your areas of expertise are.

Grace - welcome to you too! Congratulations on the weight loss you have already achieved. Were you using Fat Blaster over this period?

One thing to understand is that weight does fluctuate naturally, and so it is important to keep a long-term view. Things like the weather, where you are in your menstrual cycle, and the types of food you have eaten recently can all have an effect on your weight.

I can't say for sure that Fat Blaster will help you reach your next weight loss goal. From a simple scientific view, eating less calories each day than you burn will lead to weight loss. Fat Blaster helps with things like curbing appetite and cravings for calorie-high snacks, while keeping your energy levels high enough that you can still be active during the day.

Nathan and Justin: thanks for the advice.  I know that I have a condition called polycystic ovaries cyndrome, which in itself causes obesity.  So I know that it's going to be very hard to lose the weight.   The cardio that i do is running and using the cross-trainer, I also use the stepper for about 15 minutes.  I just think that I'm slowly eating too much rubbish, so hopefully the fat blaster will help me.  I started taking them this morning... Wish me luck

Another thing... Has  anyone heard about dietrim?  I've heard good thinks about this product (on the net) but can't seem to find it

Hi,

I'm 26yrs old female looking to get some fat out of my waist and stomach, buttocks and thigh area.

Overall I'm not fat (155cm, 50Kg), but I have a big stomach and waist so I can't wear tight fit tops...well, I guess I can, except that you'll see all the bulge from it.

I do very little exercise due to working and studying commitments. Already I've cut all the junk food, and only eat 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner).

Will the Fat Blaster help me?

I am about 20 kilos overweight so I approached my local chemist for suggestions on an appetite suppresant. The lady suggested I take Reducticarb and Fat Blaster (two and two before each meal). I have done so, so far for dinner last night and breakfast today. Today I have a slight headache, straight after taking the pills I feel a bit bloated and therefore not hungry. A bit gassy too. I am experiencing hot flashes today but not sure if it is due to the headache I have or PMS! (its that time of the month). Anybody else tried this combination with successful results?

Hi Carol, as has been mentioned on here previously, being overweight has a lot more side effects than Fat Blaster will give you.

If you are a regular coffee/tea drinker then the caffine in Fat Blaster shouldn't affect you too much. It's mainly to give your body some energy that you would usually get from snacking on high-calorie/suger foods.

People have complained about headaches before. Maybe someone else would be in a better position to comment?

HI, I have started taking reductil this week.  I need to loose 40kgs.  Im pleasantly surprised at how good I feel after taking the tablets.  I have virtually no side effects and I am only eating a fraction of what I would normally consume daily.  I have a knee injury so exercise is limited to a bike but Im doing at least 7kms a day in short bursts.  Has anyone had success with these pills?

I am now on day 5 with Reductil.  I feel great and I finally gave in to the urge to weigh myself and Ive lost 3kgs in 5 days.  I feel that Im eating s tiny fraction of what I used to with no food cravings or hunger pains.  Because I am eating less I am taking far more time to think about what I am eating and making sure I make good food choices.

Hi Janice -

Glad to see you're having some luck with the Reductil. 3kg in five days sounds good, but weight tends to fluctuate depending on things like bowel movements, whether you have just eaten a meal, and water retention, so don't be surprised if one time when you weigh yourself you find your weight has actually increased.

Also, in the initial stages of weight loss, measuring by scales might be ok, but you'll want to start measuring your weight loss with a tape measure soon. This helps take into account fat being replaced by muscle.

40kg is a lot of weight to lose. I think you'll find that the first 10kg come off quickly, but after that it'll get progressively harder to lose the weight. Don't give up!

thanks for the words of encouragement.

Im well aware of the weight fluctuations, it just has to be coming off though because I am making so much healthier food choices. Interestingly I have totally lost all urge for coffee too.  I couldnt imagine I could "forget" to drink coffee!

Hey Rachel,

I bought FB and it says to use it for 12 weeks along with calorie controlled diet and exercise and then move onto the FB Max to shift the extra weight if need be.  Basically, don't jump ahead if you don't need to.

My problem is thus.  I'm NOT a big build, though I am quite tall.  I've never weighed more than 12 stone - 76 kilos others.  Bout 3 years ago I started having serious bouts of depression and anxiety and because I couldn't work my weight ballooned (previously I was in performing arts so was quite fit)  I've tried EVERYTHING when it comes to dieting, and they all work, but gradually I've put more weight on.  I'm not 86 kilos!

I don't eat more than 15K calories a day, and what I eat is balanced.  I have no junk food - as I have allergies to chocolate and some wheat - and I have a Rowing Regime - using an indoor rower 5 times a week.  I have been doing this for 4 months now, and not lost a thing.  I am hoping that once I get back from Holiday the weight will come off with the help of FB.

What more can I do ? help help help!  FB seems to be the last line of defence in a long and drawn out battle - bearing in mind I know some people have had weight problems all their lives etc, I do not mean to sound whimpish!

Unfortunately, Fat Blaster will do not all the work for you.  There may be several causes to your weight gain, from Thyroid problems, allergies or your basal metabolism has slowed right down due to lack of exercise.

Perhaps you should consult your doctor with your fears and get some tests done.  I recently had an allergy test which proved I'm allergic to wheat and have since felt a sh*t in weight - not dramatic but enough.

I find that sometimes Pharmacies will say what they want to sell the target amount of product they need to.  I bought the Detox 4-3-2-1 from a Pharmacy recently - was told it'd work wonders and it was absolute crap!

Before paying out for more pills, seek out a professional and get to the underlying cause of the problem.  If walking doesn't help with your veins try a low impact exercise regime such as Yoga or perhaps Pilates.  Winsor pilates works wonders as they have various levels of fitness workouts.

Hope that helps!

FatBlaster is only recommended for people over the age of 18.  It also will not really "help you lose weight fast" - you still need to have a balanced diet and exercise regime so this probably isn't a product for you to try just yet.

As you are an average weight already I would just concentrate on having a more active lifestyle - take up a sport (maybe with a few friends) and perhaps start a food journal so you can keep track of what your eating and think about what you are about to consume to try to avoid "binge eating".

I know there is a lot of pressure these days for young girls to be thin - just remember that images you see in the media are NOT realistic and most of them are UNDERWEIGHT which can be just as damaging to your health.

All the best!

hi everyone!
I've just started to use the fat blaster max. I seem to be having less energy than when i didnt use it. Can someone tell me if someone has had the same effect? or am i just alone in this?

And also i feel a bit bloated after taking it. The only good thing about it for me is that it supresses my appetite.

I started taking fat Blaster on 19 02 2006

ive lost 10.2kg....so pretty good.....smile

ive had no side effects at all and i have heaps of energy now

I stick to a calorie allowance of 1350 cals per day and i do kick boxing and interval training to help lose the weight. Fat Blaster helps me stick to my plan by stopping cravings and supressing my appetite....it also gives me energy to exercise

so yeah ide say for me it works great

i still have 9.8kg to go....so just over 1/2 way....smile

im sure that without fat blaster i could also reach my goal....but the tablets just seem to make the journey that little bit easier

smile

Hi,
I to have tried Reductal, Xenical, Duramine, and with little or no long term effect. I was then introduced to Fat Blaster Max and an hour a day at the gym, and i certainly recommend both.    regards and good luck, judy

hey everyone just need some advice before i start FatBlaster from the 1st of July

How long do you have to take the tablets for? (was advised that you take it for 4months straight then stop for a month, then do it for 3 months, then stop, etc)

Can you take only one tablet or do you have to have two before every meal?

Whats the side affects, eg: does it cause bloating/consitpation,etc?

Thanks in advance!!!

I have an event to go to in about 6 weeks, and would love to drop about 7kg in that time period. I go to the gym 5 days a week for 2 1/2 - 3 hours, doing a mix of cardio and weight training, and have changed my diet completely and sticking to a food plan my nutrionist advised. Ive done the gym and diet routine for 2 weeks now with no weight loss AT ALL. Im very dissapointed, would it be unwise to take fatblaster in conjunction with my new routine? And when ive lost the weight i want to, stop using it?

I must say - I was addicted to Duromine, and I became a paranoid, cranky woman. It worked a treat - but I lost my life as I knew it. After I stopped taking it I packed on the pounds and I thought about my next choice in dieting - this was Fat Blaster. While it didn't work over night or have dramatic results at the end of the week as Duromine offered - it kept me calm and made me want to go outside and play with the dogs in the park and get out and live. So just try something natural and do everything you can to make it work for you, not have pills run over the top of you. You take these pills as a "one less thing to worry about" so try and change the life style with it. Plan your exercise, meals in the freezer already portioned and cooked, and have a food diary. This has made me maintain a healthy 10 size figure and mentality. Prescriptions can ruin and run your life, an addiction. I am no preacher - BUT I lost some important people and jobs because of the state I had gotten myself into.

hi everyone, im a qualified personal trainer and after being diagnosed with under active thyroid and I.B.S i started taking fat blaster max to curb my ongoing hunger. I have been taking 3- 5 tablets a day and since have been experiencing bad head aches, low energy, dizziness and chest pains. i was wondering if anyone else has had these side effects and if they will get better. The pills seem to be curbing my appetite, mainly because i have been feeling so ill. i would appreciate any feedback, thankyou!

hi rikka,
30 - 60 minutes a day is the recommened amout of exercise if you are wanting to lose or maintain weight. If you are new to exercise, start off with 3 half hour sesion a week and try and increase times and intensitys as you become more immune to exercise. Activties you can include could be: walking, bike riding, group classes, swimming at the local pool. Also, doing more incidental exercise such as housework, walking up stairs other than lift, parking car further away will all help to burn more calories a day and see faster results. Try falling into a pattern that is long term and realistic.Excessive exercising can cause you to burn out and lack interest in exercise all together, so you need to find a balance. Remember that exercise should be fun so try new things and you may be suprised!

I started taking Fat Blaster last week and it's really helped me to stop over-eating and and stopped the cravings. I haven't weighed myself yet but I can already feel a slight difference in my clothes. I've really struggled to lose these last 10 kilos and have tried many diets, hopefully this will be the one.

I read this forum last week, before making my decision on whether or not to go ahead with purchasing and taking fat blaster.thankyou to everyone for your opinions, some favourable and some not so favourable.in the end i decided that i was going to give it a try,and the good news is that in just over two days i have lost half a kilo  its not a world record, but for me it doesnt need to be,for me i see it as a positive start.i have up to now suffered no side effects, although im sure if i had wanted to,i could have attributed a few small things to the fat blaster,im not going to do that though,im simply going to keep going and hopefully continue to do as well as i have up to now.ive got a headache today, but i had one last weekend and had not even started on the fat blaster,my headache is due to the fact that when i have a late night im over tired and hey its headache time,i might get constipated in a month, it happens from time to time, but i wont blame it on fat blaster, what im trying to say is as simple as this, take the tablets and see if they work, dont look for negatives before you even start, thats the surest way of talking yourself out of even trying.and when you do start remember, there were days before you started, that gave you the blues, and times when you found it difficult to sleep,or even maybe you had mood changes, its called life.im going to keep going with fat blaster simply because thats what ive decided, and the fact that it has received some negatives on this forum will not deter me,nor sway me from coming to my own decisions as to whether or not it is the right product for me.im also in the minority on this forum,hi ladies you now have a male companion,im gobsmacked at the fact that the only male input on here seems to be from justin, come on lads where are you?i know your out there, ive seen you walking around town with lets just say a pot belly,or am i imagining it,am i really the only overweight male in the univerese

Good on you Patrick...it's good to see a male admitting he has a weight problem and doing something positive about it. I always think it is so unfair it seems to be only us women that have to worry about their weight and be trim for the opposite sex.

I have just today, started taking Fat Blaster. I am 38 years old and have always struggled with my weight. I am also on anti-depressants which make it hard to shift kilos. Currently I am about 30 kilos overweight, but am committed to shedding at LEAST half of it. Next  March I am being Cheif Bridesmaid at my girlfriends wedding so this is at least part of my motivation. Other than that I just really don't feel comfortable being this weight. And from a health point of veiw,  my family history contains heart disease, diabetes, and various types of cancers. So obviously shedding excess weight is in my best interests.

So anyway thats my story, will drop in and let you all know how I am progressing. I am refusing to give in to my usual daily weighing, only weekly, so will drop in after that... if I experience any side effects I will let you know but so far ...nothing.

Good luck everyone and happy shedding! Stay strong!

hi guys,

i started taking dietary fat blaster just yesterday. i started taking it due to recommedations from a friend who also wants to lose weight. he told me that as a big eater, (as i am too), after taking 2 pills of fat blaster he started to feel really full after only a small meal and therefore asked me to try. since i've already gained about 10kgs in the last two years, i decided that it was probably a good idea to stop being lazy and do something about it.

and as fat blaster was only 30 bucks from a nearby coles i decided it was worth a try.

now, solely on what i've read and what i've heard, i assumed that fat blaster would decrease my appetite as well as make me feel full faster.

yesterday alone with 2 pills before each meal i had about what i usually ate and have found myself in a situation where i cannot rely on a pills alone.

my advice (non-medical) to anyone who's on regular fatblaster themselves: eat about 3/4 to half of what you usually eat, chew slowly and drink lots of water after a meal as you need to stay hydrated on fat blaster. and please for the love of whatever you believe in, if you are serious, stop the junk food.

do not rely on the pills to do all the work alone.

i find that if i allocate myself less food to eat after taking 2 fat blaster pills, despite a slight bloaty feeling from being 'full', i do feel somewhat satisfied that i have eaten less yet feel as full as i would if i had stuffed my face.

i intend to start taebo once a week and start walking to school everyday which is about a 1km walk.

here's hoping that i'll be a healthier, slimmer me in 6-8 weeks!

good luck everyone, i'll check back often!

Hi Everyone,

I have only been taking fat blaster for the last 3 days. I take 2 tables, 3 times a day. I haven't really felt any surge in energy but I do feel a little less hungry all the time. I am only eating half the sized meals I normally eat.

Being 150kg's and 5'11 I have always eaten huge meals and about 6 of them a day. I cannot afford lap band surgery at the moment so this is my last resort. I have been doing a brisk walk for 30 mins each day and already feel better.

I have taken Reductil & Duramine before but they put my blood pressure through the roof and made me feel horrible, my doctor took me off them.

I'm going to stick with Fat Blaster for 12 weeks and then move onto Fat Blaster Max after that. Will let you's all know how I go.

I am getting married next April and need to lose about 60kg's so I'm hoping I can average about 2-3 kg's a week with 3 small meals a day, 30 mins walking and Fat Blaster!

Just another note - I dont drink any caffine drinks like tea, coffee or soft drink. I would recommend staying away from them because Fat Blaster already has that stuff in it and you might get headaches from adding more caffine.

I only drink water now

I started taking Fat Blaster this last week and already have seen results in the way it curbs my cravings for nasty foods. However i also have an inplanon as a form of contraception. I know that the product is all natural but someone mentioned it might affect the implanon. Does anyone know whether or not this is true?

Hi Kristee -

There is nothing stopping you from taking the Fat Blaster Max without taking the original first. The Fat Blaster Max has a few more ingredients in it, and is a little more expensive. I don't know if the Fat Blaster Max makes you lose weight quicker. It is marketed along the lines of for use to get rid of the last remaining bits of fat, apparently those bits which the original Fat Blaster can't/doesn't remove.

Hey guys,

I was just very curious, I am 17  years old and have just bought fat blaster. I was just wondering how long it takes to see results (if i'm dieting properly and excerising for 30-40 mins a day)?? Also I read that if you're under 18 you really aren't supposed to use fat blaster? I really want/need to lose weight quick for a holiday I figured I'd use a suppliment.  Can anyone help me out???

Liana -

You will probably notice a significant decrease in body weight after the first week, but it will probably primarily be water loss.

After that, you are really looking at 1kg/week as being a safe speed to lose weight. The Fat Blaster should help you achieve that goal.

Hey guys
I am thinking of trying the Fat Blaster as I heard it works, but I am confused abt which one to get..I am 70 kg person, who exercises 2 hrs 5 days a week and eat a balanced diet and I want to lose 10kgs by April end..I have only amanaged to lose 4 kgs in the last 2 months and want to speed up the process..Can anyone suggest which Fat Blaster product I need to buy..

Wat exactly is the difference between
1. Fat Blaster Tabs 60 versus Fat Balster Day & Night Tabs 60.....apart from the price difference, is tere a difference in the ingredients or in the outcome

2. Fat Blastre Max..I read this was a more effective...But can I start on this one directly instead of first starting with Fat Blaster original

If anyone can help, that will b great

Tks:D

Ann Lee -

Firstly, 2kg in a month is quite a healthy rate of weight loss, so please make sure you don't do anything harmful to your body as you try to meet your weight loss goals.

If you have a particular date in mind which you are working towards, a simple formula to follow for your gym time would be 50% cardio/50% weight training, and then in the final 2-3 weeks switch to 75-100% fat-burning cardio. You will lose some muscle mass (important for losing weight) but in the last 2-3 weeks you will really start to notice the difference.

Also don't forget that if you are doing weight training then you are probably building muscle mass, in exchange for fat, which is a good thing. But it also means that the scales may not reflect the improvement accurately.

From the manufacturer, the Fat Blaster regular seems to be a general purpose weight loss supplement, wheras the Fat Blaster Max would be more for when you plateau in your weight loss.

great topic...

I'm new, first post. Been taking fatblaster for three weeks now and i am soooo lethargic. My energy level is minimal. Could this be due to the tablets? I am quite unfit, and overweight by about 30 kegs. I have anxiety which peaks when i begin exercising and breathing hard sets it off also.

Help...

Stray -

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forums!

At a guess I would say that indirectly you are eatinig less due to the Fatblaster, especially less slow-burning carbs, and this is draining your energy levels.

Speak to your doctor first, but the current gold standard for healthy weight loss is a combination of the following:

* creating a small calorie deficiency each day (ie you will need to be meticulous about counting your calories). Eating the right foods in the right ratios is also important.

* cardio exercise (you might be able to start with walking, then work your way up to jogging and running)

* weight training, to create fat-burning lean muscle

There also seems to be some credence to increasing the frequency of meals to five or six times a day (ie every three hours).

Regards

Hi, I have a bit of IBS - not officially diagnosed but have
all the symptoms of bloating, constipation etc. I read
somewhere that you shouldn't use Fat Blaster if you have
any inflammatory bowel diseases. Has anyone had any
experience with this? Is it a bad idea - should I maybe use
another product?

Thanks :)
