Hi Janet -

Not that I'm aware of. If you are experiencing side effects, you should stop taking it.

Being overweight has side effects (eg heart disease, diabetes, etc)

Hi Kelly -

The ingredients in the Fat Blaster and the Fat Blaster Max include things like Bitter Orange which increases your metabolism. So I would think that if you stopped taking them your metabolism would also be affected.

Hi Sacha - I am a "normal" Australian size-12 girl. I work out (albeit infrequently!), but I have a little fat around my waist and on my thighs that I just can't get rid of. I initially started with Optislim, but in hind sight it wasn't really suitable. It's more of a meal replacement strategy for limiting calories and losing weight over time. Actually, when I started taking it I was really worn down, but that only lasts a couple of days. I think it's still a good product, though.

Now I'm trying fat balster max. I can't say for sure that it is the sole reason for my losing some of this hard-to-lose fat, but I've noticed a small difference. but to answer your original question, I haven't noticed any side effects like a run-down feeling. In fact, what drew me to it intially was the ingredients because they look natural to me. And the optislim definitely tastes like chemicals.

HTH!

G'day all.

I usually have low blood pressure (approx 120 over 60) and since taking fatblaster it's risen to approx 140/98.  I have now stopped taking it.  Will monitor things over the next few weeks.

Hi guys, have decided to lose some weight and was hoping FB might be the way to go to speed things up a bit. I am not overly weight but I am not my idealistic athletic build. So I have a few questions...

I was wondering if it's OK to go straight onto FB or should I exercise without it first?

Is there anything else I should know about it?

Have many people here had success with it?

Regards

Hi Dean - welcome to the MJ Forums! That's a worry about the increase in heart rate, and ceasing to take the Fat Blaster is probably the best option.

Are you a tea or coffee drinker? If not, it could be related to the fact that your body isn't used to caffine. But I honestly don't know. You might like to try something else which doesn't contain caffine.

Hi Roger - welcome! Feel free to register and start your own thread if you wanted to document your progress or something (or anyone else). Otherwise you are most welcome to keep posting here.

I don't see any problem in starting on a course of Fat Blaster without first starting an exercise regime. However, exercise will be beneficial with or without the Fat Blaster, whenever you decide to start

Someone else might be able to offer a reply to your other questions.

Yes you can as they do different things. As for wether or not fatblaster has sideeffects - if you are on any presribed medications you must speak to your doc or pharmacist first. The Caffiene in fatblaster is the main ingredient that will speed up metabolism and in that other members case, increase blood pressure. HTH

It's not recommended as the herbs in there can possibly react with some people. I wouldn't try it if you are using the pill for contraceptive purposes.

Yes your blood pressure can increase due to the caffiene. It is both a appetite suppressor as well as increasing your metabolism. HTH

Hi guys...

I STRONGLY!!!!! recoconmend NOT taking anything with Bitter Orange or any stimulant in it... A friend of mine has recently almost lost his mind from taking this product.

It is also under investigation from the FDA

for your own sake don't take it.

I am about 20 kilos overweight so I approached my local chemist for suggestions on an appetite suppresant. The lady suggested I take Reducticarb and Fat Blaster (two and two before each meal). I have done so, so far for dinner last night and breakfast today. Today I have a slight headache, straight after taking the pills I feel a bit bloated and therefore not hungry. A bit gassy too. I am experiencing hot flashes today but not sure if it is due to the headache I have or PMS! (its that time of the month). Anybody else tried this combination with successful results?

To anyone who is wanting to go onto a weight loss tablet, it is recommended that you speak to you doctor first or to you local pharmacist.

There can be side effects with  weight loss pills that contain high levels of caffiene such as the Fat Blaster products. These side effects can be some such as headaches, pulpitations, sweats. This is due to the amount of caffiene that is in the product.

If you experience anything that feels unusual to your normal bodly function for anyt period of time, STOP TAKING THE PRODUCT!!!.

Also people who are on other medication MUST CHECK with their local doctor before starting on these tablets as they may interact with medication. i.e people who have HIGH blood pressure should check with their GP before taking this weight loss tablet (as with any over the counter medication).

For all others that have tryed this product and found it effective. keep up the good work with the weight loss.

Cheers

This was all totally out of the blue.  No epilepsy.  All medical tests thus far have proved nothing abnormal anywhere. The only link to both b/o and seizure was that I had recently taken FB.

Hi Tania -

Unfortunately I don't have any data on that. What contraceptive pill are you taking now? You know that some contraceptive pills these days actually prevent water retention, and weight loss is one of the "side effects" eg Yasmin.

Hi,

I am on anabolic steriods for medical reasons and I am a little fat (unrelated to the reason I am on the steriods). I want to take this chance to do some working out. Will fat blaster help me burn of the fat while I am building muscle? I guess I am asking if it could help improve definition.

Thanks!

Hi Matthew -

How serious are you planning on working out? In order to gain muscle you need to be consuming a certain amount of fat each day. Since the Fat Blaster makes it harder for your body to absorb fat, you might find it hard to gain lean muscle.

Also, if you are on a strict nutritional program then the appetite suppressant effects of Fat Blaster may make it harder for you to consume the required amount of calories each day.

Having said that, I have also seen Fat Blaster advertised in body building magazines. This would indicate to me that they feel body builders can benefit from taking it.

Hi everyone. I am currently trying to lose around 4 kilos. which i cant shift and most importantly the excess bulge from having two children and from previously losing 26 kilos through weight watchers. I still follow weight watchers ( life time member, but not totally committed). I was wondering whether it would be of benefit to me to try FB, for a short term solution, as I know once I get these kilos off I wont put them back on in a hurry.Any suggestions?? Also are you still able to drink coffee while on the FB tablets??Ta.Cheers

Hi Benny,

I've been taking FB Max for a week or so and it has disrupted my sleeping.   I don't drink much coffee and if I do only in the morning.   I don't take them after 6.00 and will drink camomile tea before going to  bed or some warm milk.

However, I do have a slight nausous feeling since taking them, has anyone else felt this??

Hi

Ive been taking FB for 10 weeks now..... lost 10 kg.....smile

ive had no side effects what so ever..... i am not a coffee drinker....dont drink coke

so my body has taken to the caffeine pretty well

i did have high blood pressure about 150-160 / 100....was just about ready to go to my doc and say put me on tablets for the rest of my life....decided it was worth losing weight and getting my BP back to normal naturally if i could.......my BP now sits around  115/70-75.....so ide say the weight loss has done great things for my BP.....certainly no ill effects

but i must say.....while ive been taking the FB...ive also been on a calorie controlled diet and do some form of cardio exercise most days a week for at least 1/2 hour

I am half way to my goal and will continue with FB till i reach it......then ill take 1 tablet per day for a few months so my maintenance continues

calorie control/ portions and exercise have become a way of life now

i no longer diet....i have a new way of life....FB is only a short term measure to make the journey a little easier.....then its up to me and me alone to continue healthy living.

if you have not tried FB....ask your doctor first...then if its ok give it a go....if you have side effects....stop taking them.....as with all things in life.....they are good for some and not for others....thats why they call us individuals

smile

Hi tw_24 -

It is not uncommon for girls who have just left highschool to start gaining weight. If you are maintaining the same eating habits and therefore calorie intake, but living a more sedintary life (less sport, less moving around), combined with a decrease in the hormone testosterone, you may find you are softening up a little.

Hi Rhys -

I have seen Fatblaster advertised in bodybuilding magazines, and none of the ingredients make you "lose" muscle. The only thing I would be careful of is that fat is required in order to create muscle, and so if you are eating a very low-fat died, combined with the fat-burning qualities of Fat Blaster you may find yourself slimming down rather than bulking up.

I have been prescribed Duromine. I weigh 90kg and need to be around 65-70kg. I have not heard a single success story about this pill and want o know if anyone has achieved their goal and when is should start to see results. I go to the gym 3 times a week for 2 hours per day so that should help.

Hi, I used duramine a few years back ...............seemed to get results almost immediately however I did find it difficult to sleep. I would check it out throughly with your GP first as mine didn't explain any of the side effects. I didn't know at the time that these tablets contained speed.

Good luck

Hey justin,

the advice you give is really encouraging and helpful to a lot of people, including myself. i'm considering the fat blaster product, despite the fact that i don't need it.  i'm a crash dieter, and i work hard at school to make sure life is as perfect as it can be, which includes my body and the way i look.  i'm afraid of over-eating, as you know dieting this way really slows down your matabelism.  i'm looking for a career in modelling after finishing school this year, and i'm looking at doing things the healthy way. do you think the fat blaster could help me maintain a healthier diet?

Thank you. your help is appreciated.

Hi Maree - glad you are finding the site useful!

If you are seriously considering a career in modelling then my suggestion is to speak to a nutritionalist who specialises in modelling. Your local gym may be able to recommend someone.

It will probably cost you more than the Fat Blaster initially, but you have to think of it as an investment into your future. Top models aren't "lucky" in getting where they are, just the same as Tiger Woods wasn't born the world's best golfer.

Hi,

Please help me.  I'm wanting to know what would be the likely outcome if you take fat blaster and eat only fruits and vegetables, but don't exercise. will this result in muscle loss?

Hello. I have been taking FB for a few months and have found it to be great in giving me the energy to get up and exersise 5 days a week for 60min plus, which is no easy thing with two young kids and work. I have also done weights 1-2 times a week and eaten carefully ,including a treat once or twice a week (not binging!!_) and plenty of fresh friut and veg,meat/eggs and dairy and carbs in moderation. I find weight watchers helpful to work out how much to eat. I have lost 7 kg and gained plenty of definition and have no cellulite anymore, I look and feel great!

The most important thing is to develop a plan that you can maintain long term, then you will keep the weight off as well.Reward yourself when you lose every 5kg with new clothes or something you enjoy (other than food!)Look at a full lenth photo of yourself to stay focused and motivated, and remember the health benefits ie. natural endorphins make you happy, lower blood presure, higher self esteem and more energy.Good luck,

Honni

I don't know how much is FB at chemist but Duromine is about 80$ (a friend had it for 3 months, lost 12kg, gained all later when stopped with Duromine).

It is better way to use that money for going to local swimming pool 3 times a week, trust me.

Benefits of swimming are plenty:  all muscless are exercised, mind and body feel wonderfull after one session of 1 hour.

Simple, eat only fruit until miday, for lunch wrap roll sandwich, for tea yoghurt and piece of fruit, for dinner steamed veggies and meat without fat, drink butter milk (wonderful for your intestine), don't drink coffee, sweet juices, fizzy drinks, and don't eat after 8pm.

Hard work pays at the end. It is more easy to fork out money for various tablets and sit and wait. But, for our body it is not the best option.  No sweat, no gain.

I wish the best to everyone.

Mick -

To answer your question, you can take the tablets without food. However, the way some of the ingredients work, the greatest benefits are achieved when taken with food. For example, psyllium husk bonds with the fat in your meal to make sure it isn't absorbed by your body.

Why aren't you having lunch? Are you replacing it with a meal later in the evening perhaps, when your metabolism has slowed down?

One way you can increase your body's metabolism is to eat more meals a day, kind of like a cow grazing in a field all day. Skipping meals can put your body into "alert mode" where it thinks there is a shortage of food, and therefore starts to store excess energy, also known as fat.

25kg in four months is quite ambitious.

Hi Justin

Thanks for your advise. Yesterday I tried to eat as little as I can, or eat low calorie food like strawberries etc, during the day, and eat heavy stuff in the evening. I didnt realise that its better to eat more during the day than in the evening.

Like u've said, eating more meals a day can increase metabolism, but do u have any advise on what to eat during meals? really small portion? and what about snacks? Does the portion for snacks has to be the same for main meals like lunch/dinner?

Mick -

I was thinking about this last night, and I think that if you are serious about losing all that weight then you should probably consider seeing a professional ie a doctor, nutritionalist, dietician, personal trainer etc.

For general dietary information you might try a quick web search. At a basic level, if you aim to have your meals include a portion of meat and a portion of slow-burning carbohydrates (rice, bread, pasta, potato), then as much fruit and vegetables as you like, then I honestly think you can't go wrong.

You will have the greatest gains from cutting things like Coca-cola and potato chips out all together, and getting some exercise every day (30-60 minute walks, maybe holding a light dumbell in each hand). These are the kinds of things that a diet specialist or personal trainer can assess and help you with immediately.

For snacks, we're talking about an apple or a museli bar (not biscuits or chips). It will also help take the edge off your hunger when main meal time comes around.

Thanks heaps for your advise. I'll work that out, and yes, i've started to go to the gym and do 40 minutes workout, and walk at least 45 minutes a day. I;ve cut down on fizzy drinks, and sweets, cakes, etc.

I had indian bread (1 piece) with chicken curry for lunch, 30 mins after taking FB, but i threw up half (or maybe more) of what i ate. I threw up last night after dinner too (half of the food I took). I still exercise two hours after dinner.

I will try to snack only bout 100 calories per snack, and I hope its not too much.

Thanks again Justin!

Hi Booty -

If you are 100kg and rising then even if you slim down with the Fat Blaster / Fat Blaster Max you'll still need to make lifestyle changes (exercise, diet, etc) in order to keep the weight off.

According to information available today, 100kg, provided it's not muscle bulk, is getting into quite dangerous waters.

Congratulations - I'm glad to hear that the Fat Blaster is working for you!

Losing a large amount of fat from your body is a big challenge, but not impossible. Going over your diet with a fine-tooth comb is very important - try to avoid sugar-based drinks (including alcoho-pops), and also try to keep active during the day.

Hi Krystal -

As far as I know no-one has reported that it makes the pill any less effective. There is nothing written on the box to that effect either. Perhaps another one of our readers might have some anecdotes?

Unfortunately there is not much literature regarding what happens when one stops taking the Fat Blaster. However so long as your "in" calories are not more than your "out" calories you should be ok. Again, maybe one of our readers has some stories?

Exercise and a correct diet are perhaps the most important part of safe weight management.

Krystal - I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean.

Fat blaster does contain fibre, which will have a laxative effect.

I think you are not alone, but judging from the number of people using the product I'd say that it is not a big enough problem to make people stop using it.

Also, can you take fb while you are on laser hair removal?

I have been taking FB Max on and off for 3 years. I originally started with FB (without the max) and found it did nothing to alter my weight.

FB Max works - very very well but.... there are a few things I need to put up with:

Racing heart, sweating, running on a litte buzz like your on speed (feels pretty cool, im very chatty), and sleeplessness. I find that if I exercise whilst im in between taking FB Max capsules, my energy runs out very quickly and I start to feel faint and have blackouts. I get the feeling that FB Max is running me down....

That said, if you want to loose a few kilo's within a few weeks or if you do take two tablets for each breakfast, lunch and tea - which I don’t do anymore... you could loose it even quicker. I do not do the 2 capsules three times a day because I know it affects my blood pressure, my heart is racing a million pumps a minute all day and I just cant sleep at night - I also get the feeling that its making me loose a few IQ points - somehow I think its like speed and it is just wasting the brain away...

About me: I am 177cm tall, average weight is 66kg - im 29 years old - female. Chocolate addict, but otherwise eat well. Don’t do coffee or soft drinks - just green tea. I take 2 capsules of FB Max each morning before breakfast. That’s it otherwise I won’t sleep at night.

Why do I take it? If I need to loose the extra KG's then I take it until im comfortable with my body again (lost the muffin top), then im off for a couple of months - then on.... it’s an endless cycle. Let’s face it, dieting is part of our lives - it’s a booming business and this is why... im the victim of dieting and not ashamed to admit it - life goes on. Obviously the side affects does concern me when you think of the long term damage it could be doing but I figure a couple months break helps - I know that I could be proven wrong. Is there a safe weight lost solution??

And whoever said in the earlier post that if it’s sold in Australia then its safe?? To state the facts correctly - unless a product contains an ingredient that is banned internationally then its not sold in Australia. Australia is one of the slowest nations to ban harmful ingredients/products. Our Customs Dept, whilst they are doing a good job keeping out the narcotics and pests - they also control what health products have paid our government to be sold here. Truth be known - not until there are enough complaints about a consumed product then it is then formally tested and rectified / banned. No product is tested for the Australian market until there are enough complaints which means it could be consumed/used for a decade before action is taken. Lead was in paint for how long before Aust banned it?? Decades. There are government bodies in place that say they do, but they are just there as a money collection point. I could go on all day....

So is FB safe from long term side affects? I don’t think so, but at least I look good in the mean time. Call me stupid, I know. I know. Now where is my packet of FB Max!

Hey guys,

ok..so im 15 years old,female,165 cm tall and weigh i think 64.5kgs.So i guess im classed as 'Normal weight' but i hate how i look at the moment and want to lose 4.5kgs in about 7 days-for a very important function, then after that just 1kg a week so i will hopefully be skinny by xmas LOL. Um,at the moment,i eat healthy, maximum of 1200 cals evry day, mostly 1000,and TRY to do 9 hrs exercise every day (but only as of last week) because i want to lose those 4.5kgs quickly.

I just wanted to know..if taking these tablets as well as eating only 1000 cals every day and dropping to say around 4hrs exercise everyday for 7days allow me to lose those 4.5kgs? because 9hrs is hard work and i need something that will help me do it quicker and easier!!

Thanks,

Candice  (:

Candice -

Your efforts is commendable, but losing weight so quickly is not good for your health, and will work against you in the long term.

There are plenty of suggestions on this page. From the sounds of it you don't need the extra assistance provided by Fat Blaster.

MissInsanity -

Please consult your doctor on this one. Our initial thoughts are that you should avoid taking the two together.
