Blackmores Women’s Vitality Multi contains many of the B group vitamins. The B vitamins play an essential role in the metabolic processes of all living cells by serving as coenzymes in the processing of food to produce energy. They are important in the functioning of the nervous system.

This formula also contains potent antioxidants which help to reduce the susceptibility of body tissues to damaging free radical-mediated processes in cell membranes. Vitamins C and E, betacarotene and zinc are well documented for their powerful antioxidant activity. Selenium is an essential trace element which is involved in protecting white blood cells from free radical damage.

The herb Milk Thistle is included as an agent which assists in supporting normal liver function. It is particularly useful when living a busy lifestyle which involves stress, rushed meals, alcohol, and exposure to environmental toxins.

Chromium is a component of Glucose Tolerance Factor and has been shown to influence carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism. Iron is essential for oxygen transport. Without sufficient iron to oxygenate the blood you can be left feeling tired and run-down.

Medicine interactions

If taking biphosphonates (osteoporosis drugs), tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics, thyroid hormone, penicillamine, methyldopa, carbidopa or levodopa separate doses by at least 2 hours. Calcium, iron, zinc and magnesium may decrease absorption and efficacy of these medications.
